Our clients - on our Branding services

"The creative flair demonstrated by Insight when they worked with us to develop the cube logo, branded Applied CAE with an image of quality and innovation. It neatly demonstrates our core services to our customers and is flexible enough to be used with any of our key collateral; folders, letterhead, and even the website.
It gave us the impact and focus we were seeking for our corporate identity and has been well received by our customers."

Shaun Clarke
Managing Director, Applied CAE

"Motek Portable Products is the UK's leading communications rental company supplying a vast range of equipment - pagers, fax machines, two-way radio systems and base stations - to individual users, companies and events such as the Lombard RAC Rally.

Following a redesign of its company logo in January 1997, Motek wanted a radical new design framework to incorporate the logo, establish a recognisable image for the company in the communications marketplace, and give them enough flexibility to use in every element of their marketing communications mix.

Insight presented three design proposals ranging from fine art to the supernatural, all based on a central image to represent the company and derivatives to represent different equipment ranges and vertical markets. Motek selected a design framework which has become known colloquially as "the arrows" - a striking, bright, modern, collection of high quality, colour-coded, oil-painted arrows representing the power to get in touch with people at any time, in any location.

Motek and Insight initially rolled the new design out in a portfolio of sales literature covering the company and its products and services. The literature is arranged as separate leaflets in a folder so that sales people can mix-and-match the portfolio according to the customer's interests. Over the last year, Motek has also produced advertisements, exhibition boards, name badges, corporate presentations and packaging - all using the "arrows" design framework.

Dave Stevenson, Managing Director of Motek; sums up: "We're very pleased with the design concept that Insight produced - it was very important for us to have an instantly recognisable, consistent company image in all our customer-facing materials and I'm very happy that we've been able to do that. I would recommend their design expertise without hesitation - and they're also great at meeting impossible deadlines!"

Corporate branding project for ACT Medisys

ACT Medisys is a market leader in the healthcare information systems business with over 20 years experience. In 1999, Insight won a highly competitive pitch to create an identity for a significant new umbrella product range that ACT Medisys was about to launch.

Insight's brief was to develop a fresh new look that was global, contemporary, distinctive and professional, reflecting the established nature of the organisation. The introduction of this new product range was a huge step for ACT Medisys, moving away from its traditional vertical product approach.

Insight came up with a shortlist of names which it thoroughly researched with libraries and the patent offices. The product name "Intego" was subsequently agreed and Insight set about the long process of registering the name. In the meantime, Insight developed a number of logos using striking colours on clean white backgrounds. ACT Medisys chose one particular look using a gold globe with a pulse running through it.

The company was so impressed with the new Intego logo that it was agreed that it should actually replace the new corporate identity, not just represent the new product range. Sue Griffin, Marketing manager of ACT Medisys explains "The Intego branding project escalated into something so much greater than we ever thought it would be. It exceeded all expectations and has been welcomed by everybody here at ACT Medisys."

ACT Medisys commissioned Insight to roll out the new corporate ID across letterheads, press paper, business cards, compliment slips, a template PowerPoint background and all internal documents. Griffin describes the look as "really smart, upmarket and classy". She is adamant that not only does it look good, but it really sets them apart from the crowd and gives ACT Medisys a competitive edge. "The new-look collateral has set a high standard within ACT Medisys that staff really want to live up to!"

While innovative design was clearly key to the success of the branding project, ACT Medisys really benefited from Insight's dedicated project management style, which Griffin describes as "outstanding. We really couldn't have asked for any better! Insight kept us informed at every stage of the process, which was really important for us, particularly in the development of the artwork."

Griffin attributes Insight's planning and attention to detail as being responsible for keeping costs to a minimum. She adds "Insight always strives to establish agreement on the design elements at as early a stage as possible. This saves time at both ends and has meant that whatever project we have worked on, very little redesign has been required once we have received the initial draft. With every single project, they have persevered until we have been 100% happy with the results, yet have delivered on time and to budget."
