Insight identified that there was no one CRM thought leader within the local government space, and so Insight initiated a campaign to spot and create opportunities for Lagan to become the industry authority. Activities included ensuring Lagan was regularly featured as an expert within The Guardian Q&A columns, supplying letters to the editor at LGC and creating and placing regular feature articles in The MJ etc. Alongside this campaign, Insight identified any Lagan customers that were beacon councils and worked with them to create stories for multiple hooks ensuring hits across IT, national, and government press. The campaign achieved articles across all target publications including The Guardian, LGC, Computer Weekly, LGITU and Government IT, achieving £57,487 advertising equivalent within the first six months alone and ROI of 619 per cent. Lagan also reported upon a significant increase of invitations to tender.
