PR job vacancy - public relations account executive.

We have a vacancy for two account executives to join our Cheshire based team.

The person will work on existing clients as well as helping to develop new business. We are looking for someone who has an interest in public relations and the IT industry, is looking for a hands-on role from day one and wants to make a vital contribution to our business as we grow and develop.

For the right person, there will be the opportunity to take on increasing levels of responsibility. We’re a small team so we need someone with high levels of enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ attitude and no pretensions. A lot of training will be ‘on the job’ but we also provide more formal training courses as well through our links with the Bell Pottinger Group.

Our ideal recruit could be a recent graduate or an account exec with up to one year’s IT PR experience. Ability, aptitude and attitude are more important than academic qualifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

In brief Learning and operational on clients.
Level of knowledge and experience required Good English skills. Either a recent graduate or an account executive with up to one year’s IT PR experience.

Team skills
Good teamworking skills for working within account teams.
PR skills Basic PR skills (release writing, media list management, features, case studies etc). Administrative support to account teams.
Media contacts Phone contact with journalists re press releases, feature chasing etc. Ownership of low-level press contacts and client list maintenance. Use of Insight tools to identify new contacts when required.
Campaign planning Contribute as a developmental activity
Client Account Development Plans Contributes/learns from as a developmental activity
Monthly client meetings Use as developmental activity when become client-facing. Assist senior members of account teams with preparation where possible.
New Business Contribute as a developmental activity
Finances and reporting Normal timeslips and expenses responsibility
